A Look Back at Lost Tree Village Over the Years
The original advertisements for Lost Tree Village offered eleven reasons why Lost Tree Village was one of the most desirable communities in Florida. These reasons included congenial people, location, privacy, the Lost Tree Club, carefree living, ocean beaches, underground utilities, golf cottages & club suites, lakes and waterways, building service, and an established community.
Fifty years later, all eleven still hold true. The community was expertly planned, and the elements that make the Village unique have only been enhanced over time. Above all, the Club amenities, the variety of real estate opportunities, and the location continue to set Lost Tree Village apart from other communities. The Golf Club, Beach Club, and Fitness Center have all been built within the last five years with the utmost quality and craftsmanship, which helps drive up real estate values. K2 Realty has witnessed this progress firsthand, and each new season brings more interest and activity. It is an exciting time to live in Lost Tree.
The Golf Club
The Lost Tree Village golf course was completed in 1961, and the Golf Club opened in December of that same year. At the time that the Club opened, there were no homes in the community. The Lost Tree Club was a destination in South Florida, and the Club hosted countless galas and dinner parties. These events were frequented by many prominent golfers and Palm Beach residents.
The current Golf Club opened in November 2012. This impressive structure encompasses 26,000 square feet and is designed in the Island Classical Style that Lost Tree Village is known for. The amenities and services are on par with some of the most coveted golf courses in the world. The building’s prominent position allows for sweeping panoramic views of the golf course, and the Club is held in high esteem by residents and visitors alike.
The Beach Club
The original Lost Tree Beach Club was little more than a changing room with a small saltwater pool. This 3,500 square foot room was smaller than the majority of the homes that exist in Lost Tree Village today. The facility was drastically upgraded, with an entirely new structure completed in May 2008. Today, the Beach Club includes a gorgeous dining room with vaulted ceilings, outside bar and poolside dining, two tennis courts, and a beautiful pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The Golf Course
E. Llwyd Ecclestone enlisted Mark Mahannah’s services for the design of the original 18-hole golf course. This golf course occupied 150 acres in the center of the Lost Tree Village community, and the expansive greens and large number of water features made it an exceptionally challenging course. The golf course was recently re-designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus in 2002.
